Return Window

(For all purchases as of January 3rd, 2023 we are currently offering 90 day free returns on all items until this promotion is canceled. All items purchased during this time until canceled qualify for free returns)

All Items have a 30 day money back guarantee. Up to 90 day store credit.

Some items have a longer return window that is stated on the individual items listing page.

You have 90 days after receiving your item to start a return. All returns must be postmarked within the new 90 day return window to be eligible for a refund.

Troy's Readers warranty on all items

All items have a 90 guarantee against manufacturing defects.

If your glasses or other item breaks due to a manufacturing defect within 90 days or purchase you are eligible for a replacement or store credit at our discretion.

That window may be extended at our discretion so long as we receive a notification from the buyer within the 90 days of purchase.

We also give a 2 week grace period after 90 days.

In some cases we may extend the warranty period without notice.

Buyer pays for return shipping unless

Order qualified for free shipping and/or returns.
Item arrived damaged or breaks within 30 days due to a manufacturing defect.
Order Shipped with incorrect or missing items
Item covered under warranty
Economic Hardship see below

We offer Free Returns in cases of economic hardship.

To qualify you must include proof of current enrolment in at least one of the following on the return request.

WIC (Women, Infants, Children)
TTANF (Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
SSI (Supplemental Security Income)
NSLP (National School Lunch Program)
Medicaid
LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program)

*The name on the documents must match the name on the order to qualify.

Returned Items Incorrect or Used

All items are inspected upon receipt.

If a different item is received than what was sent no refund will be issued and the buyer will have the option to pay the cost of shipping to have their item(s) returned.

Items Returned in used condition, not in original packaging, and/ or has signs of heavy use a 20% restocking fee will be taken out of refund.

Exceptions to return policy

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Final sale items are not refundable. Non refundable final sale Items are marked as non refundable on their product page.

Other Manufacturers Warranties

All warranties on products sold are those made by manufacturer only. Any claims made by the manufacturer are between the consumer and the manufacturer only.

Damages and issues with your order

If you are unhappy with your purchase in any way contact us at Troy+Returns@troysreaders.com and let us know if you would like a refund or a replacement.

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Return Shipping Costs for Items that do not quality for free shipping and returns

The original Cost of the item will be refunded upon receipt. Original shipping paid is not refundable, If your order did not qualify for free returns the cost of return shipping (calculated by USPS) will be deducted from your refund.

Exchanges

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

or to expedite the process you may purchase the new item while you wait for your refund to be processed for the first item.

European Union 14 day cooling off period

Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know the status of your return. You’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
